It was a really great sales overview. Great for beginners and for those that are already in sales for quite some time good to find a different approach and refresh their memory with what is important. I personally didn’t like the part when Derek tells clients that he is not sure if it is a great fit for them since it is giving them an option to ask you why did you call at all if you are not sure. I personally like the straight and more assertive approach. But it is a different style and I see that this can help me a lot in the future.

I have over 30 years of Sales Engineering – having worked for huge multinational companies (Cutting Tools, Abrasives, Lubricants and Fluids) developing commercial and technical B2B key accounts on metalworking, lubrication (mechanical maintenance), OEM, Tiers 1, and After-Market – for Automotive Systemists, Metals and Mining markets – all over Brazil.
I always answered as a Sales consulting – from machine floor to high volumes negotiations with key decision makers.
